&lt;p&gt;Um in Zukunft biobasierte Materialien zu erzeugen, hat der thail&amp;auml;ndische Petrochemiekonzern PTT Chemical Group (Bangkok / Thailand) 60 Mio USD in das Biotechunternehmen Myriant Technologies Inc (Boston / USA) investiert und die Gr&amp;uuml;ndung eines JV vereinbart. Das Gemeinschaftsprojekt soll mit Hilfe der Myriant-Technologien in der Region S&amp;uuml;dostasien Chemikalien auf Basis von Bernsteins&amp;auml;ure produzieren, die bei der Herstellung von Kunststoffen die Rohstoffe auf Erd&amp;ouml;lbasis ersetzen k&amp;ouml;nnen.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Myriant nutzt einen Teil der PTT-Gelder f&amp;uuml;r den Bau einer Anlage in Lake Providence (Louisiana), die aus Hirse Bernsteins&amp;auml;ure erzeugen soll. Das neue Werk soll in der ersten Jahresh&amp;auml;lfte 2012 den Betrieb aufnehmen.&lt;/p&gt;
